Mati Turns One

I can hardly believe that our baby girl is celebrating her first birthday. When I think of the accomplishments she's made in just one year, it seems surreal. (My frame of reference with Julianna was slightly off since we started with her at 8 months.) Bear with me as a name a few of the milestones...she came out screaming and looked just like the 4-D ultrasound, there was concern about her left foot being turned in when she was born, she gained over 1 pound by 2 weeks of age, she lost her umbilical stump on Valentine's Day 2007, she made it through colic at about 4 months, she started eating food at about 6 months, her first word was Mama (how cool is that?), she was quick on all fours, she took her first steps at 10 months and 1 week, she gave up crawling altogether December 22, 2007, she still doesn't understand the concept of presents but is FIERCE when Julianna takes her toy, she says quite a few words and signs some as well, she loves to dance, she likes to pull pranks, she thinks necklaces and hairbands look pretty on herself, she looks just like her daddy and even more like cousin Zac (pretty sure she acts just like her mommy--poor nursery teachers), Uncle Chuck says she laughs just like I did, and my mom's personal favorite is the gap in her front teeth!
